Letter from Betty Heacker and Mike Stephens
To: Members and friends of the North Shepherd area
The North Shepherd District and partners have succeeded in SAVING the sign structure/bus stop on the old Sears property. Now we need your help to save its partner: a 100-year old Oak that stands next to it and is one of the last survivors from the forest that once grew on that site.
We are asking you to take action:
Send a “Save our 100 year Old Oak” letter of support. Please include your zip code.
Get the word out! Spread the word and generate support!
Please send your letters to North Shepherd District, 4537 North Shepherd, Houston, 77018
OR send an eMail to either
Garden Oaks Civic Club OR Donna@wabashfeed.com
TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE! WE MUST ACT QUICKLY!
We want to thank you in advance for taking the time to take action. When Betty appeared before the Planning Commission when we saved the sign structure/bus stop she noted that “this tree had stood for more than a 100 years and taken everything that Nature could throw at it during those 100 years but it can not survive a chainsaw”.
Many thanks,
Michael Stephens, Garden Oaks Civic Club
Betty L. Heacker, North Shepherd District

As it stands today
