Privacy Policy

Welcome to https://www.gardenoaks.org (the "Site"). We understand that privacy online is important to users of our Site. This statement governs our privacy policies with respect to visitors who register to view neighborhood specific content on the Site and make use of the various services offered by GOMO & GOCC+ (collectively, "Services") ("Registered Users").

"Personally Identifiable Information"

Personally Identifiable Information refers to any information that identifies or can be used to identify, contact, or locate the person to whom such information pertains, including, but not limited to, name, address, phone number, and email address. Personally Identifiable Information does not include information that is collected anonymously (that is, without identification of the individual user) or demographic information not connected to an identified individual.

What Personally Identifiable Information is collected?

We may collect basic user profile information from all of our Registered Users. We collect: names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and whether user is owner, renter, business sponsor or resident of nearby neighborhood.

How does the Site use Personally Identifiable Information?

We use Personally Identifiable Information to allow access to some site pages. We email Registered Users about information related to the subject matter of the Site. We may also use Personally Identifiable Information to contact Registered Users in response to specific inquiries, or to provide requested information.

With whom may the information may be shared?

Personally Identifiable Information about Registered Users is owned by GOMO and GOCC. The information may also be shared with other Registered Users who wish to communicate with each other. We may share aggregated information about Site visitors, including the demographics of visitors and Registered Users, with Members of GOMO and GOCC.

How is Personally Identifiable Information stored?

Personally Identifiable Information collected by GOMO & GOCC+ is securely stored and is not accessible to third parties who are not also registered at the website.

How does GOMO & GOCC+ use login information?

GOMO & GOCC+ uses login information, including, but not limited to, IP addresses, ISPs, and browser types, to analyze trends, administer the Site, track a user's movement and use, and gather broad demographic information. User movement data provides the site designers with the information needed to identify problems with the site, improve security and make changes with the goal of improving service to our Members.

What partners or service providers have access to Personally Identifiable Information from Registered Users on the Site?

GOMO & GOCC+ has entered into and will continue to enter into partnerships and other affiliations with a number of vendors to provide functionality to the site. Examples of this functionality are the Calendar, User Registration and Shopping Cart. Such vendors may have access to certain Personally Identifiable Information on a need to know basis for providing support of their products (software) on the site. We will disclose Personally Identifiable Information in order to comply with a court order or subpoena or a request from a law enforcement agency to release information. We will also disclose Personally Identifiable Information when reasonably necessary to protect the safety of our Site visitors and Registered Users.

How does the Site keep Personally Identifiable Information secure?

Our site administrator is familiar with our security policy and practices. The Personally Identifiable Information of our Registered Users is only accessible to a limited number of qualified administrators who are given a password in order to gain access to the information. We audit our security systems and processes on a regular basis. Sensitive information, such as credit card numbers or social security numbers are not obtained from users. While we take commercially reasonable measures to maintain a secure site, electronic communications and databases are subject to errors, tampering and break-ins, and we cannot guarantee or warrant that such events will not take place and we will not be liable to Site visitors or Registered Users for any such occurrences.

How can Registered Users correct any inaccuracies in Personally Identifiable Information?

Registered Users may contact us to update Personally Identifiable Information about them or to correct any inaccuracies by emailing us at manager@gardenoaks.org. A profile page is available for Registered Users to make changes to their information.

Can a Registered User delete or deactivate Personally Identifiable Information collected by the Site?

Yes. Registered Users who do not wish to have information collected about their use of the site may ask to have their registration terminated and their data deleted. These users will lose access to some of the pages which contain neighborhood specific information and will not be able contact Registered Users of the Site once that capability is added to the Site. They will also be removed from email communications.  We strongly discourage "opting-out" because Texas Legislation sanctions the use of email for required communications (eg. meeting notifications) for certain neighborhood organizations.  That legislation places the onus on owners to provide and update their contact information including email address.  If you are an owner please Opt-IN.

What happens if the Privacy Policy Changes?

We will let our Site visitors and Registered Users know about changes to our privacy policy by posting such changes on the Site.
