Garden Oaks DRs were recorded 1937 – 1945. These original documents and copies made from them are in poor condition. They are hard to read. Early on, perhaps as long ago as the 1950’s the Deed Restrictions were transcribed by the Garden Oaks Corporation. This first transcription added an introductory paragraph about the importance of Restrictions and attempted to “correct” typographical errors and improve upon the formatting. Many long time residents are familiar with the pastel colored booklets handed out to new owners that contained this transcription. A second transcription, completed in 2016 was made to reproduce the wording of the original recorded documents with no attempt at corrections. This second transcription is easier on the eyes and is searchable.
