Because of circumstances beyond our control, the 2008 Preview Party was moved from The Tuscany in Garden Oaks to Treebeards on Market Square, 315 Travis (parking cost will be covered with parking lot located one block away). The Preview Party was Saturday, April 19 from 7 to 11 pm
Once again, it is time for the Garden Oaks Home and Garden Tour - our favorite excuse to come together as a community to celebrate all the wonderful reasons to live in Garden Oaks! Come join the fun and a leisurely preview to a wonderful weekend celebrating the 2008 Garden Oaks Home and Garden Tour.

Celebrating the 2008 Garden Oaks Home & Garden Tour "Beyond the Garden Gate" schedule:
- 5 pm to 7 pm - Self-guided preview of six homes and four gardens
- 7 pm to 8 pm – Preview Party at Treebeards - Hors d’oeuvres and auction preview with hosted bar.
- 8 pm to 11 pm – Dinner/Drinks/Auction at Treebeards with hosted bar.
Treebeards has been cooking fresh Southern food for hungry downtown Houstonians since 1978.
Hors d’oeuvres Menu (7-8 pm):
- Spinach Feta Triangles
- Shrimp & Black Bean Quesadillas with pico de gallo
Buffet Style Dinner Menu (beginning at 8 pm):
- Grilled Chicken Breast with fresh basil vinaigrette
- Mashed Potatoes
- Green Beans with Mushrooms and Onions
- Green Garden Salad with ranch and vinaigrette dressings
- French Bread with Butter
- Buttercake Squares
- Yellow Cake with Chocolate Icing
- Iced Tea, Coffee and Soft Drinks
(We will also have vegetarian red beans and rice available for those guests who identify themselves as being on a vegetarian diet).
The entertainment for the evening will be the Eric Korb Trio, a local band that plays rock, blues, funk and a great mix of danceable, fun music! The band will also feature our very own GO resident, Georgia Lister! A portion of the evening will be devoted to honoring the generous home and garden owners and sponsors who have once again stepped up to support the Home and Garden Tour – in other words, a few of the many people who make Garden Oaks one of Houston's greatest places to live! The auction will have great items for bid, including items donated by many local businesses and restaurants. The evening will be a fun and exciting event that you don't want to miss.
