Deed Restrictions

You can download the text of the Deed Restrictions for Garden Oaks, by Section. PDFs of the Recorded Documents are shown by PDF symbol . A transcription of the deed restrictions is provided for readability and convenience as a Word Document . These Word Documents are updated Transcriptions which more closely reflect what is in the original Recorded Documents including misspellings and odd punctuation. We have tracked the changes from the old transcriptions so you may see the changes by turning on Markup. (You may also find copies of the old transcriptions here along with a version which compares the new and the old.) Where any difference occurs between the transcribed and recorded documents, the Original Recorded Documents will control.

Amendment A for sections 1, 2, 3, and 5

Subdivision Management Certificate

Amendment A is the amendment to the deed restrictions that created GOMO, and should be downloaded with the deed restrictions for sections 1, 2, 3, and 5 in order to have the complete deed restrictions for those sections.

*Note: Section 4 is continuing their effort to join GOMO. While section 4 does not have GOMO to help with its deed restrictions, the deed restrictions for that section are still valid and enforceable.

GOMO Directors

There are three director positions per section. If you are interested in being a director for your section, contact any of the directors listed below or email GOMO for detailed qualifications and procedures. At this time, section five has a director position open. You can download a copy of the most recent election information and nomination form (PDF, updated 29 Aug 2005) if you are interested in running for GOMO and wish to see what the requirements are.

Contact GOMO: We are set up to most efficiently answer your questions if you make contact with the Office Manager by leaving a phone message or sending an email using the contact information at the top of this page. These are usually answered on the same business day. Directors are also available, however, most have day jobs that impact the speed of their response.

GOMO Bylaws

In addition to and as required by the Texas Property Code and Non-Profit Incorporation laws, GOMO operates under a set of bylaws. If you wish to report a potential deed restriction violation occurring in sections 1, 2, 3, or 5, you can download this form (PDF) and submit it to any GOMO director listed above, or mail it to the GOMO address shown near the top of this page. Contact a GOMO director listed above or email GOMO first for any questions about how to fill out the form, what kind of violations should be reported, etc.

1st Tuesday of month at Garden Oaks Montessori Magnet Cafeteria 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM for plan reviews all months except Oct and Dec. Garden Oaks Civic Club meets afterwards.

3rd Wednesday of month at Garden Oaks Professional Bldg, second floor 7:00 PM to 9:00 for plan reviews and board meeting.

2016 Meeting Dates (PDF)

Building Plan Submission

Owners are encouraged to attend a meeting early in their planning process to ask questions.

For Construction Plan approval, please submit the following:

  • Filled out and signed Plan Submission Form (PDF)
  • Plans including site plan, floor plans, and elevations with full dimensions
  • Current Survey of property requesting construction approval
  • Elevations of the residence if building a new detached garage or an addition to an existing detached garage
  • Digital versions of plans are requested as courtesy but do not replace the need to submit hardcopy. PDF format is preferred.
